6. Servant Leadership

We need to take a positive aspect in serving others not as the pagans. The different between negative aspect of leadership (as usually applied in pagan leadership) and positive aspect of Christian leadership is described by Peter as follows. I Pet. 5:2-3

• d.  Love
  The fourth element that is integral to servant leadership is love. The reason why the leader serves others is not because he must or his duty but out of his love. Loen Morris comments on John 13, “the whole verse with its emphasis on love may be meant to set the tone for the lengthy section it heads.” “Towel” is the very symbol of “the full extent of Jesus’ love;” it is a towel, not a throne!
